"Digital rights and responsibilities are the privileges and freedom extended to all digital technology users and the behavior expectations that come with them." There are a number of benefits your countries people will receive from becoming digitally active.
We'll all become internet literate- This means that all people will have an understanding of what the internet does and how it can help in many activities performed in our daily lives.
We'll begin to develop an internet etiquette- Soon everyone will understand how to use the internet safely and effectively.
We'll maintain an ongoing conversation- more people will be talking about new ideas and projects.
We'll become better at crap detection- We'll be able to see what can help us and what is useless to us.
In a world that is advancing so fast it is essential for countries to get their people to become digitally active.
QUESTION 4 - DIGITAL ETIQUETTE
Online etiquette has become important part of our social and working live
These are the inappropriate digital conduct and the effects on society
People have the right to express their
views however there are views that are inappropriate. A person is not allowed
to post views or messages that are
Racist, vulgar, discriminatory, or of violent nature. When that is done
this causes a lot of tension as the digital space is accessed by all and
therefore one person opinion might be seen to be representing the majority
therefore causes unnecessary tensions or bring the persons image into
disrepute. It is always advisable to think through what you put on the internet
as it will forever be linked to your name and might also damage your
reputation.
Digital etiquette, or netiquette as it is
sometimes referred to, is a basic set of rules pertaining to behaviour that
needs to be followed to ensure the Internet is better for all users.
Don't Type in caps- typing in caps in
considered shouting which people could take offence to it. Society is less
likely to respond to your post if they feel like you are being rude.
Don't use offensive language- You never
know who is going to be reading your posts so avoid using language which is
deemed as offensive or inappropriate. If society is offended by your language
they are less likely to share or respond to your post.
Don't distribute illegal activity- Just
because you are online this does not mean you are allowed to post or sell
whatever you want. It is important to stay within the rules of the law.
Don't expect a response right away- We live
in a fast paced and busy world which means that people are not always available
to reply to our posts. By rushing a response out of someone you are less likely
to get back a response you are looking for.
Don't steal other peoples identity-
Stealing someone's identity is considered fraud in society. This is looked down
upon hugely and people take a huge offense to this!
QUESTION 3.2
Gardner (1983) identified several aspects of intelligence
These are the importances of the different levels with regard to the business context today and the
impact of technology.
- Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence – This is the ability to use the body for expression. People high in this intelligence use their physical coordination to master problems. Professional dancers and athletes are good examples of this.
- Spatial intelligence – This is the ability to recognize, use, and interpret images and patterns and to reproduce objects in three dimensions. Successful architects, sculptors and designers are likely to have high spatial intelligence.
- Interpersonal intelligence – This is the ability to understand people's intentions, motivations, and desires. This intelligence allows individuals to work well with others. Professions like therapy, teaching, and sales attract individuals with high interpersonal intelligence.
- Intrapersonal intelligence – This is the ability to understand yourself, and to interpret and appreciate your own feelings and motivations. Therapists, actors, caregivers, and writers are all people who can bring high levels of personal awareness to their work.
THE INTERNET OF THINGS
The Internet of Things is an emerging topic
of technical, social, and economic significance. Consumer products, durable
goods, cars and trucks, industrial and utility components, sensors, and other
everyday objects are being combined with Internet connectivity and powerful
data analytic capabilities that promise to transform the way we work, live, and
play.
In today’s society, the Internet of Things
raises significant challenges that could stand in the way of realizing its
potential benefits. Attention-grabbing headlines about the hacking of
Internet-connected devices, surveillance concerns, and privacy fears already
have captured public attention. Technical challenges remain and new policy,
legal and development challenges are emerging.
The Internet of Things is happening now. It
promises to offer a revolutionary, fully connected “smart” world as the
relationships between objects, their environment, and people become more
tightly intertwined. Yet the issues and challenges associated with IoT need to
be considered and addressed in order for the potential benefits for
individuals, society, and the economy to be realized. Ultimately, solutions for
maximizing the benefits of the Internet of Things while minimizing the risks
will not be found by engaging in a polarized debate that pits the promises of
IoT against its possible perils. Rather, it will take informed engagement,
dialogue, and collaboration across a range of stakeholders to plot the most
effective ways forward.
